Home Hemodialysis Beta
Testbed designed within configuration control for parallel testing at 5 locations across the US,
Problem
-
Existing prototype not reliable, maintenance friendly, or controlled.
-
Only bench-top testing done thus far.
-
Needed controlled testbed for multiple facilities.
Challenge
-
Information from client was sparse and existing model failed to meet the client needs.
-
No experience with hemodialysis.
Solution
-
Implement a light-weight control system for a modular, robust, and easily maintained testbed.
-
Intelligently apply existing control system and ERI technician/engineering resources.

Retrofit
Problem
-
New technology from the client needed to be added to the testbeds.
-
New vertical orientation with ability to change front angle.
Challenge
-
Required that we leverage the existing testbeds.
-
New design work focused only on new technology.
Solution
-
Re-orient testbed frame and reuse main mounting plate.
-
Design modular "side-car" that adds to existing function.
